  • Total Price — Calculated as Unit Price x Quantity for each line
  • Pricing Approval — Status indicator showing whether the line price requires approval
💡 Pro Tip

Turn off Instant Pricing when making multiple changes to avoid performance delays from repeated recalculations. Make all your edits, then toggle Instant Pricing back on (or click the recalculate button) to process everything at once. Watch the Pricing Approval column closely — any line that drops below the approved discount threshold will be flagged for approval, which adds time to the process.

3 Pricing Workbench

The Pricing Workbench provides advanced price analysis and optimization tools beyond the basic line editor. It allows sales reps to analyze pricing across the entire Quote, apply bulk adjustments, compare against historical pricing, and optimize margins. This tab is particularly useful for complex quotes with many line items.

Use the Pricing Workbench when you need a holistic view of your pricing strategy across all products on the Quote, rather than editing individual lines.

  • Per-Product Tiers — Configure different tier structures for each product on the Quote
  • Tier Validation — Automatic checks for overlapping ranges, missing gaps, and logical consistency
  • Revenue Projection — See projected revenue at each tier level based on expected volumes
  • Bulk Tier Templates — Apply standard tiering templates across multiple products at once
💡 Pro Tip

Use Bulk Tier Templates when quoting multiple products with similar pricing structures. This ensures consistency and saves time. Always verify that tier breakpoints align with the customer's expected order volumes — a mismatch between tiers and actual volume can result in unexpected pricing that delays approval.

6 Approvals

The Approvals tab manages the line-level pricing approval workflow. It displays a Line Approvals table with columns for Product, Business Unit (BU), Region, List Price, Unit Price, Discount %, Approval Required, Line Status, AI recommendation, Pricing evaluation, and BU approval. The tab includes action buttons for Filter by BU, Submit for Approval, Proceed with Approved, and Evaluate with AI.

This tab is critical in the semiconductor industry where discount authority varies by product line, region, and business unit. Lines requiring approval are flagged automatically when the unit price drops below pre-defined thresholds.

Approval Comparison: Custom Line-Item vs. OOTB Header-Level

Royal Silicon uses a custom Quote line-item approval process that provides significantly more granularity and intelligence than the standard out-of-the-box Salesforce approval. Here is a side-by-side comparison:

Custom Line-Item Approval

Royal Silicon Implementation
Per-line approval — Each Quote line item is approved or rejected independently. Approved lines can proceed while rejected lines are re-priced.
BU Decision column — Business Unit managers review and provide approval decisions specific to their product lines.
Pricing Decision column — Pricing analysts evaluate margin thresholds and discount compliance for each line item.
AI Decision column — Einstein evaluates pricing against historical data, competitive benchmarks, and win-rate models to recommend approve/reject.
Proceed with Approved — Allows sales reps to move forward with only the approved lines, keeping the deal moving while rejected lines are reworked.
Multi-dimensional routing — Approval routing based on BU, Region, discount level, and product category for each line.

OOTB Salesforce Approval

Standard Platform
Header-level only — The entire Quote is approved or rejected as a single unit. No line-level granularity.
Single approver chain — Approval follows a linear chain (e.g., Manager → VP) without parallel review tracks.
No AI evaluation — No automated intelligence to assess pricing competitiveness or historical benchmarks.
All-or-nothing — If the Quote is rejected, all lines must be revised and the entire Quote resubmitted, even if only one line was problematic.
Basic routing — Routing based on simple criteria (e.g., total amount > threshold). Does not support per-line routing logic.
Approval History — Tracks approver actions at the Quote level only, no per-line audit trail.
Why Line-Item Approval Matters

In semiconductor pricing, a single Quote can contain dozens of line items with widely varying margins. Line-item approval means a $2M deal is not held up because one $500 line needs re-pricing. This dramatically reduces approval cycle times and keeps deals moving through the pipeline.

SME Workbenches

Royal Silicon embeds subject matter expert (SME) knowledge directly into the Salesforce application through specialized workbenches. Data scientists and pricing experts configure the algorithms, indexes, and parameters — so every sales rep benefits from that expertise without needing to be an expert themselves. The result: consistent processes, continuous improvement, reduced training time, and dramatically more productive sales reps who no longer wait for expert help.

Forecasting Workbenches

Forecasting workbenches give data scientists the tools to configure, tune, and validate demand forecasting models that sales reps use seamlessly in their daily workflow.

Forecast Workbench

The primary forecasting tool with 12 distinct models — from statistical (ARIMA, Holt-Winters) to ML (LSTM, Moirai Foundation) to specialty (Bass Diffusion, Lotka-Volterra). Includes AI-powered demand reshaping, simulation scenarios, a 6-series quantity grid, and CSV export.

12 Models AI Reshape Simulation CSV Export

Shaping Console

Configures application ramp profiles and market signals that feed into both forecasting and pricing. SMEs define how new product introductions, end-of-life transitions, and market events shape the demand curve. Parameters propagate automatically.

Ramp Profiles Market Signals Auto-Propagation

Advanced Forecasting Adjuster

A Flow-based tool for making manual forecast adjustments with full audit trail. Used when SMEs need to override model outputs based on customer intelligence or market events not captured in historical data.

Pricing Workbenches

Pricing workbenches let pricing analysts and economists embed their knowledge into index-referenced pricing models, ensuring every quote reflects current market conditions and competitive dynamics.

Quote Pricing Workbench

The central pricing tool for sales reps. Features dual-index blending with custom weights, demand outlook integration, swappability advisory (alternative product recommendations), and deal score optimization that balances win probability against margin targets.

Index Blending Demand Outlook Deal Score Swappability

Pricing Schedule

Manages the Tier × Period pricing matrix with two modes: Single Price (one price across all periods) and Price Table (different prices per period and volume tier). Includes a Simulate mode for testing pricing scenarios before committing.

Tier × Period Single / Table Simulate Mode

Index Workbench

Where pricing economists manage commodity and market indexes. Supports 4 ingestion methods (manual, CSV, API, scheduled), a KPI dashboard, and a self-tuning elasticity engine that learns the win-rate-to-price-elasticity relationship from historical deal outcomes.

How Workbenches Empower Sales Reps

Sales reps interact with the output of these workbenches — optimized forecasts, recommended prices, deal scores — without needing to understand the underlying models. When a rep opens a Quote, the pricing recommendations reflect the latest index data, competitive dynamics, and win-rate models configured by the SME team. No delays waiting for expert input. No inconsistency between reps. The intelligence is built into the tool.

Micro Agents

Micro Agents are specialized Einstein dialog boxes embedded throughout the application. Each one is a purpose-built conversational AI agent that engages users with LLM capabilities to perform tasks in the context of a specific activity. They transform complex analytical tasks into natural conversations — users simply ask questions or describe what they need, and the Micro Agent handles the heavy lifting.

Pricing Advisor

📍 Quote → Pricing Workbench

An AI chat agent specialized in Quote line pricing. Users ask questions like "What price should I set for this part?" and the advisor responds with recommendations backed by KPIs, interactive price-volume charts, and index blend controls. The agent considers historical win rates, competitive pricing, current index values, and demand outlook when making recommendations.

AI Opportunity Intake

📍 Account → Create Opportunity action

Creates a new Opportunity directly from an Account page through natural language or document upload. Users describe the deal in plain text (e.g., "Automotive customer needs 50K units of RS-4032 for Q3 production") or upload a requirements document, and the agent extracts structured fields to populate the Opportunity automatically.

Why Micro Agents Matter

Micro Agents eliminate the "expertise gap" in daily sales operations. Instead of switching between tools, consulting spreadsheets, or waiting for analyst support, reps get instant, context-aware AI assistance right where they work. Each agent understands the specific record, related data, and business rules — delivering relevant answers in seconds, not hours.
